Christian based housing for alcoholics and addicts
IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
in 2016 a group of men sat in a back yard talking about recovery and the role God plays in their lives. The idea of a community for men in the early stages of recovery was conceived. in the spring of 2017 the founder of Found Hope had a life changing experience at a spiritual retreat and the idea for Found Hope was born. In the Spring of 2018 Found Hope was incorporated as a 501c3 non profit organization. Then in the fall of that year we were able to purchase our first house a ministry was started.
Moving forward we have some amazing plans, if it is Gods will, a drop in center will soon be opening in Butler Pa. The vision for the center is that it will provide a cup of coffee or a bottle of water and an ear to listen. Possibly a new pair of socks, a slightly used jacket or a warm blanket. Most importantly it will give us an opportunity to share the hope found in Jesus. We will also be raising money for the ability to purchase more housing for those in recovery. The drop in/ outreach center has become a reality we opened our doors in January of 2022.
While our main focus will be on those who are broken the alcoholic, addict and the homeless all who need prayer or an ear to listen would be welcome
SOME OF WHAT WE ARE DOING
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
- We are providing men in early recovery a safe and supportive place to live..
- Weekly bible study with a heavy focus on recovery topics and how the Bible relates to our daily lives.
- Provide access to a local job recruiter to assist with resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as basic finance classes.
- Praying daily for the men who who live live at our house and for our alumni.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
- We are planning for more housing hopefully to include our first housing for women.
- A 24 hour drop in center is in the works, we will provide an ear to listen and prayers for those in need. While we will not offer any counseling, information on professional counseling and other services will be provided. We have accomplished this goal by opening our outreach/drop -in enter January 2022.
- A separate housing unit is being considered that would be dedicated solely to those who placed their lives on the line for us our military veterans
- Affordable permanent housing in a supportive community is a long term goal.
